Seattle Couldn't Sneak Up On Rivals Last Season

Before the start of the 2023-24 season, a Kraken veteran spoke to me about what would be different from the 46-win, 100-point campaign of a year earlier.

He said he expected teams would no longer take Seattle for granted.

That didn't seem to square with the so-often repeated player quotes. You know, "This is a tough league" and "You can't take any night's off." So I asked this vet if opponents had actually taken the Kraken lightly.

    He answered in the affirmative.

Teams the Kraken faced bringing their "A" games might be a reason most of the same Seattle players, doing most of the same things, didn't achieve the same results.

Another Kraken veteran, Jaden Schwartz, describes the need for Seattle to summon its own "A" game in today's Kraken Reaction.
