Toronto, CA - Spokane Chiefs captain and Seattle Kraken prospect Berkly Catton was named the CHL Sportsman of the Year at the 2025 CHL Awards. The 19-year-old from Saskatoon tallied 109 points (38 goals, 71 assists) in 57 games with just 30 penalty minutes, finishing third in WHL scoring and helping Spokane reach the WHL Championship Series.

Catton, the 8th overall pick by the Kraken in the 2024 NHL Draft, became the second Chiefs player to win the award, after Pat Falloon in 1991.

Other WHL honorees included Gavin McKenna (CHL Player of the Year), Landon DuPont (CHL Rookie of the Year), and Chiefs forward Andrew Cristall, a finalist for Top Scorer.

Catton helped the Chiefs sweep their way to the 2025 WHL Championship series against the Medicine Hat Tigers.
