Eight Remaining Teams All Have Legitimate Shot To Reach Final
Here's the biggest upset from the 1st round of the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs.
There were no true upsets.
Remember five years ago, when BOTH regular season conference champions, the Tampa Bay Lightning and Calgary Flames, were eliminated by #8 seeds in the 1st round?
No such Cinderella stories this year, as seven of the eight higher seeds advanced to the 2nd round. And Colorado was hardly an underdog against Winnipeg. The upside is that all four conference semi-finals will be heavyweight affairs: Rangers-Hurricanes and Panthers-Bruins in the East, Canucks-Oilers and Avalanche-Stars in the West.
