Seattle's Brandon Tanev Scored Again For Team Canada

Sweden and Canada will meet on the final, medal day, of the IIHF World Championship in Czechia.

Just not in the gold medal game.

Saturday, both teams lost their semifinal. As a result, Canada will take on Sweden in the 3rd place game at 6:20 am Sunday, with a bronze medal at stake.

In Sweden's 7-3 setback to host team Czechia, Seattle Kraken forward Andre Burakovsky was held off the scoresheet and finished -2. Sweden took 40 SOG, but none by Burakovsky. Nevertheless, it has been a successful tournament for the Kraken winger.

Switzerland outlasted Canada 3-2 via shootout, after a scoreless overtime failed to break a 2-2 regulation tie. One of Canada's two goals was scored by Kraken winger Brandon Tanev, his 4th of the tourney.

Neither of the other Kraken playing for Team Canada, forward Jared McCann and defenseman Jamie Oleksiak, recorded a point. None of the Kraken participated in the shootout.
