The Seattle Kraken have placed Daniel Sprong on waivers despite acquiring him from the Vancouver Canucks just two months ago.
The 27-year-old has been brought to the Kraken for his second stint with the club, but this go around has not panned out the way he and the Kraken would have hoped. He's played in just 10 games with the Kraken but has registered just one goal and one assist.
When he was acquired, GM Ron Francis was looking forward to what Sprong could bring offensively but he has yet to gel with any of the Kraken forwards and isn't trusted by HC Dan Bylsma just yet.
If Sprong clears waivers, he'll join the Coachella Valley Firebirds where he'll attempt to get his confidence back and work his way towards the NHL. Sprong is currently on a one-year, $975,000 contract which could entice teams to place a waiver claim on him.
The Kraken have searched long and hard for additional scoring in many different ways and Sprong was another experiment that seems to have failed at the moment.
