Montour's celebration was cut short after the team parade when he was signed by the Kraken on July 1, 2024, as a free agent, to a seven-year, $49.98 million deal. Montour recorded several milestones in his first season with Seattle. On October 29, he recorded the first hat trick of his career, which was also a natural hat trick, in an 8–2 Kraken win over the Montreal Canadiens. Montour is one of Seattle's top scoring defenders with 10 goals and 17 assists this season.
