On Tuesday, the St. Louis Blues assigned Otto Stenberg and Theo Lindstein to the AHL as the Springfield Thunderbirds attempt to lockdown a playoff spot.

This was a perfectly executed plan by the Blues. Lindstein and Stenberg started the season in the AHL, gaining some experience before being called up for a successful NHL stint.

Lindstein played 17 NHL games with Colton Parayko looked very good. Stenberg skated in 32 games and showed plenty of positive flashes.

They'll now both return to the AHL with confidence and hopefully be dominant forces in high-leverage situations throughout the playoffs. This should help them further prepare for the NHL next season.
