There will be a change to the St. Louis Blues lineup in Game 2 of the Western Conference First Round against the Winnipeg Jets on Monday.
It just won't be someone coming in, someone going out.
The Blues are going to flip Jake Neighbours and Jimmy Snuggerud for the matchup at 6:30 p.m. (FDSNMW, ESPN2, CBC, TVAS2, ESPN 101.1-FM), with Snuggerud going up to play with Robert Thomas and Neighbours sliding down to play with Brayden Schenn and Jordan Kyrou.
The Jets lead the best-of-7 series 1-0 after coming from behind to take Game 1, 5-3, on Saturday.
It was noted that on Saturday, the Schenn line produced zero shot attempts in the game at 5-on-5, with attempts being 11-0 when that line was on the ice. They will have to help produce more balance throughout if they are going to make a dent in this series.
The Blues finished with only 17 shots on goal after having nine in the first period and had just 15 shots when they had their franchise-record 12-game winning streak snapped in the same building on April 7.
"Sometimes as a coach you have a feel that this will hopefully create a little more offense," Blues coach Jim Montgomery said. "That's what we're looking at and give us better defensive positioning with our top two lines.
"Video was done yesterday as far as what we learned from Game 1, how we're going to get better in Game 2 and we're just focused on how we can have success tonight."
Snuggerud played two games with the Thomas line previously, in Winnipeg on April 7 and against the Colorado Avalanche on April 5.
"Just know who I play with going into the game," Snuggerud said. "Play hard, play physical, try and make plays during the game, try and get shots off. I'm playing with really good hockey players. I need to know my role and move on with it."
