ST. LOUIS -- Jordan Kyrou has said he's been committed to playing both sides of the puck.

The St. Louis Blues forward has faced criticism -- myself included -- in the past for not being responsible on the defensive side of the puck.

Blues player of the game vs. Canadiens: Jordan Kyrou

Well it was on full display again Saturday in a 6-3 win against the Montreal Canadiens, and Kyrou was rewarded on the offensive side of the puck too with a goal and two assists to double his season point total to six points (two goals, four assists) and 201 for his NHL career (85 goals, 116 assists).

"Tons of chances," Kyrou said. "We're playing aggressive, we're playing fast, we're playing smart. You get chances when all that happens."

Kyrou also had a game-high nine shots on goal on 10 attempts. He was dangerous with the puck throughout the game, back-checking, winning pucks, stick-handling, skating with speed and was rewarded on the stat sheet.

"He's another guy too where the stat sheet, what did he have, two or three points coming into this game," Blues captain Brayden Schenn said. "He had breakaways and 2-on-1s and stuff he wasn't scoring on. He's an opportunistic guy. Most importantly, I think his work ethic's where it needs to be right now. He's playing hard at both ends. He's back-checking and he's winning his battles. It was nice for him to get one too."
