We talked about it earlier in the day that Pavel Buchnevich was THN's player to watch.

The scoring wasn't up to par, but the chances were there. It was going to be just a matter of time before the St. Louis Blues winger would start to impact the scoresheet again.

Buchnevich scored in the Blues' last game and he also scored Friday night against the Seattle Kraken, a tying goal in the third period and then the game-winner in overtime of a 4-3 win at Climate Pledge Arena, the Blues' season-high fourth win in a row that helped them sweep their three-game road trip, all by identical scores.

It wasn't the best game again for the Blues (25-20-2), who moved a season-high five games over .500 with the win, getting outshot in the game 36-18 but when the opportunities presented themselves, they made the most of their chances, including Buchnevich, who scored on a one-timer 1:27 into the third period to tie the game 3-3, then buried a one-timer in the slot from Brayden Schenn 3:31 into OT for the winner.

Buchnevich also assisted on a big Robert Thomas power-play goal at 15:01 that cut Seattle's lead to 3-2 in the second period that gave the Blues some life and the chance to comeback from their second 3-1 deficit on this trip.

Buchnevich came into this game with six points (four goals, two assists) in six games career-wise against the Kraken and now has nine points (six goals, three assists) in seven games.

Goalie Jordan Binnington was really, really, really close to being chosen as player of the game because he had to be extremely good once again in improving to 6-1-1 since Jan. 4, but down 3-1, the Blues needed their impact players to rise, and Buchnevich did just that.
