Well, the silver lining is it was another strong start for Jordan Binnington.

That was about the only thing to talk positively about in the St. Louis Blues' 3-1 loss against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday at Xcel Energy Center.

Binnington, who stopped 34 of 37 on the night, including all 17 he saw in the second period when the Wild had five high-danger looks according to natstattrick.com, made sure the Blues (11-9-1) had a fighter's chance throughout in a game in which they once again underperformed against a team that had lost seven in a row (0-5-2), came in with the NHL's worst penalty kill and allowed the second-most goals in the league. 

But in the end, he couldn't save a poor performance by the players in front of him to conclude the dad's trip, dropping them to 8-2-1 all-time after a 4-2 win Sunday against the Chicago Blackhawks.

It's evident the Blues are going to need strong goaltending to compete in games, and after a couple rough outings, this was Binnington's second straight strong effort; he stopped 32 of 34 in the win over the Blackhawks on Sunday.
