ST. LOUIS -- My player to watch for the St. Louis Blues against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday is forward Pavel Buchnevich.
The Blues (13-13-1) are trying to find some consistency in their game; it's been an ongoing process for the first 27 games of the season.
And in doing so, coach Craig Berube has once again juggled his lines up, including inserting Buchnevich into the center position on Tuesday against the Detroit Red Wings (14-9-4).
Buchnevich was given a run there late last season, and needless to say, it was ... a challenge, especially from the face-off perspective. But Berube felt like Buchnevich was good in playing there getting his linemates going offensively and his defensive play was effective in that area.
It'll be interesting to see how this works out for a team on a three-game losing streak, but if there's one skater that can multi-task, this is the one.
Buchnevich also has 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 15 career games against the Red Wings, and playing with Brandon Saad and Kasperi Kapanen, Berube is hopeful No. 89 can not only provide positive results for himself but also get his linemates going too.
