Blues goalie tests equipment for first time in practice Wednesday ahead of tournament Feb. 12-20

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. -- Jordan Binnington had himself a different look on Wednesday.

The St. Louis Blues goalie displayed a new blocker, glove, pads, stick and pants, things he will not wear while manning the cage in the NHL but on the international level representing Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off, from Feb. 12-20 in Montreal and Boston.

Binnington, Adin Hill of the Vegas Golden Knights and Sam Montembeault of the Montreal Canadiens represent the Canadian goalies, and Hill already broke in his equipment in the past week.

Binnington said each of the goalies has his own designs and that he wanted to get the feel of his, wearing them for the first time.

Canada will face Sweden to kick off the tournament Feb. 12 at Bell Centre in Montreal at 7 p.m. (CT) on TNT; then take on the Unites States at Bell Centre on Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. (ABC) and Finland on Feb. 17 at noon at TD Garden in Boston on TNT. The championship game will be Feb. 20 at TD Garden on ESPN at 7 p.m.
