Blues goalie makes 19 saves in 5-1 win against Denmark, follows St. Louis teammate Joel Hofer, who was in goal in win against Great Britain

Jordan Binnington was next in line to debut and play the role of back-stopper for Canada at the 2024 IIHF World Championship.

The St. Louis Blues goalie made 19 saves in Canada's 5-1 win against Denmark at Prague Arena in Prague, Czechia on Sunday morning to improve to 2-0 in pool play.

Binnington made his debut in the tournament after Joel Hofer was in goal for the Canadians on Saturday in a 4-2 win against Great Britain. Hofer had the game off with Nico Daws (New Jersey Devils) once again playing the role of backup; he backed up Hofer on Saturday.

Blues defenseman Colton Parayko did not have a point for the second straight game but was paired again with Owen Power (Buffalo Sabres), finishing with three shots on goal and an even in plus-minus in 19:10 of ice time.

Canada's next pool game will be Tuesday at 1:20 p.m. (CT) against Austria.

Meanwhile, Kevin Hayes, Matthew Kessel and USA, who are 1-1 in pool play, get back in action at 9:20 a.m. (CT) on Monday against Slovakia. Kessel has yet to make his debut in the tournament yet.
