St. Louis Blues defenseman Tyler Tucker will be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury, coach Jim Montgomery announced on Saturday.

Prior to Saturday’s contest against the Vancouver Canucks, the St. Louis Blues announced Tyler Tucker will be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

The 26-year-old sustained the injury on Wednesday against the Calgary Flames, registering 9:02 of ice time and 12 shifts.

With 14 games remaining, there’s a fair chance that Tucker may have played his final game of the season. Nevertheless, Tucker skated in 61 of the Blues’ 68 games so far, scoring three goals and 13 points.

Tucker’s 61 games and 13 points are career highs for Tucker, who averaged 14:12 of ice time, the third most in his four-year career. While Tucker did set multiple career highs, the season started poorly for him, as he struggled out of the gate.

Some of that can be attributed to the Blues' struggles to start the season, but as things calmed down, Tucker’s game improved. Tucker may never be a top-four defenseman, but with a 6-foot-1, 204-pound frame, Tucker has plenty of bottom-pairing traits.

With Tucker out of the lineup for tonight’s game and the foreseeable future, Justin Holl will return to the Blues’ lineup. Holl has played three games since the Blues acquired him, but skated in 41 games with the Detroit Red WingsAHL team.

Holl will also be skating in his 400th career NHL game against the Canucks.
