MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. -- The good news from Jim Montgomery is Dylan Holloway saw the ice.

The bad news is the young St. Louis Blues forward is no closer today to rejoining the ice than he was when the team announced he was week to week with a lower-body injury.

Holloway will not play when the Blues (43-30-8) host Utah Hockey Club in their regular-season finale on Tuesday, meaning he will miss the last five regular-season games and finish with 63 points (26 goals, 37 assists) in 77 games this season, his first full season after signing a two-year, $4.58 million offer sheet as a member of the Edmonton Oilers.

Holloway was injured late in the first period of a 5-4 overtime win against the Pittsburgh Penguins checked in the corner of the offensive zone by Rutger McGroarty and hasn't played since.

But Montgomery did give an update on his promising young forward:

"He's week to week still," Montgomery said. "He was on the ice before we went on the trip. He was doing some stick-handling, but it hasn't been anything rigorous, even close to being ready to get back on the ice with us. So it's week to week."

With Holloway, 23, not skating, it's hard to imagine he would be ready, at least to begin the Stanley Cup playoffs, for the Blues.

The team will have to try and earn a playoff spot on Tuesday without their young talent.

"He's a driver, he's a guy that creates a lot of offense for us," Blues captain Brayden Schenn said of Holloway. "He's big and powerful, but at the end of the day, we'd obviously love to have him, but we've got to go out there and get the job done without him."
