The 2024-25 season has certainly been hard for St. Louis Blues defenseman Nick Leddy. The 33-year-old blueliner was notably out from mid-October to early February due to a lower-body injury. This forced him to miss 49 consecutive games, meaning he was forced to miss more than half of the season.

However, Leddy is now back for the Blues and is starting to shake off the post-injury rust. After posting zero points in his first 13 games this season with the Blues, he is now starting to make an impact offensively.

During March 7's matchup against the Anaheim Ducks, Leddy recorded his first point of the season by getting the primary assist on Alexey Toropchenko's first-period goal. He then followed that up by scoring the Blues' lone goal in their 2-1 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Kings on March 8. He also had a plus-4 rating over those two contests.

Leddy's first goal of the season was important, as it tied the game up for the Blues and forced overtime. His goal was also a beauty, as he beat Kings goaltender Darcy Kuemper with a long-distance slapshot from the point. It also went off the post for good measure.

Seeing Leddy starting to heat up is undoubtedly encouraging for the Blues. At this point of the season, the Blues are currently one point behind the Calgary Flames for the final wild card spot in the Western Conference. Thus, they need all their players to be on their A-games, and Leddy is starting to show off his. It will be fascinating to see if he can stay hot from here.
