This off-season decision by the Blues is proving to be a great one.
During this past off-season, the St. Louis Blues signed Dylan Holloway to a two-year, $4.58 million offer sheet. The Edmonton Oilers elected not to match it, so they were awarded a third-round pick from St. Louis.
So far, the decision to bring in Holloway has been outstanding for the Blues.
Holloway has broken out in a big way for the Blues, setting new career highs with 16 goals, 22 assists, and 38 points in 52 games. With numbers like these, he has cemented himself as a crucial part of the Blues' top six and power play. He has also not been slowing down, either, posting six points in his last seven games.

However, Holloway is not making an impact because of his offensive production. The 6-foot-1 forward is also providing the Blues with more grit, as he has 114 hits on the season. Thus, he has been tough for opponents to go up against more reasons than one.
Sometimes, a player benefits from a change of scenery, and Holloway certainly has with the Blues. Going from Edmonton to St. Louis has given the opportunity to have a more significant role, and he is taking advantage of it immensely. It will be fascinating to see how he builds on his breakout year from here.
