St. Louis Blues defenseman Tyler Tucker tweaked his knee in practice, according to coach Jim Montgomery, and it won't be a day-to-day ailment. The 26-year-old will be re-evaluated in a couple of days, and no timeline has been provided.
The first St. Louis Blues player injured during training camp this year is defenseman Tyler Tucker, who tweaked his knee in practice, according to coach Jim Montgomery.
Montgomery said Tucker's knee ailment isn't day-to-day, and he'll be re-evaluated in the coming days. He couldn't provide a timeline right now.
The 26-year-old defender is competing for a top-six spot in the Blues' opening-night lineup, and before his injury he was on the outside looking in, as Theo Lindstein was skating with Colton Parayko instead of Tucker.
With the injury news and update, it appears Tucker might not even be healthy for the first game of the season against the Dallas Stars on Oct. 2.
Tucker is four years into his NHL career, but hasn't really been able to lock down a full-time role. He's seen most of his Blues tenure as either a seventh defenseman or as call-up. In 2025-26, due to injuries Tucker played in 69 games, recording four goals and 17 points.
At 5-on-5, Tucker posted a goals-for percentage of 45.74 percent but an expected goals-for percentage of 51.34 percent. In the first pre-season game, Tucker recorded 18:52 of ice time, throwing one shot on goal and two hits.
Originally a 2018 seventh-round pick of the Blues, Tucker is a 6-foot-1, 209-pound left-handed defenseman who plays a safe game while maintaining a physical level.
