Team Canada head coach Jon Cooper has announced that St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington will be the club's starting goalie against Team Finland on Feb. 17.

This announcement comes after Cooper decided not to reveal his starting goalie for the contest after Canada's practice on Feb. 16. With this, there were naturally questions about whether or not Binnington would get his third straight start. However, it has now been confirmed that he will be between the pipes again for Canada.

In Feb. 15's game against Team USA, Binnington stopped 20 out of 22 shots in the loss and recorded an assist. This was after he made 23 saves on 26 shots against Team Sweden in Canada's 4-3 overtime win on Feb. 12.

This is a big game for Binnington and Canada, as they are looking to earn their place in the 4 Nations Face-Off championship game against Team USA on Feb. 20. Thus, Binnington will be aiming to come up clutch in this crucial matchup.

Binnington, 31, has appeared in 39 games this season with the Blues, where he has a 15-19-4 record, a 2.89 goals-against average, and a .897 save percentage. This was after he posted a 28-21-5 record, a 2.84 goals-against average, and a .913 save percentage in 57 games this past season with St. Louis.
