ST. LOUIS -- Alexandre Texier was the first St. Louis Blues player named as a first six player for the Milano Cortina Olympics in 2026.

The forward was part of France's first six and officially became the first Blue to be confirmed to me playing in the games.

The Grenoble, France native had an up-and-down, mostly inauspicious first season after being acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets in the summer of 2024 before signing a two-year, $4.2 million contract.

Texier, 25, played in 31 regular-season games with the Blues last season and had 11 points (six goals, five assists) after putting up a career-high 30 points (12 goals, 18 assists) in 78 games for the Blue Jackets in 2023-24 before becoming a restricted free agent.

Texier, who has previously played for France at the World Championships five times and at the Olympic qualifiers twice, was limited last season due to injury, multiple illnesses and healthy scratches.

No other Blue was named among their nations' first six, but those expected to be named or possibly get consideration include Jordan Binnington, Robert Thomas, Colton Parayko, Jordan Kyrou and Dylan Holloway for Canada; Cam Fowler for the United States, Philip Broberg for Sweden and Radek Faksa for Czechia.
