This former Blues forward is absolutely dominating the KHL.

During the 2022-23 season, Josh Leivo was a member of the St. Louis Blues. In 51 games with the Central Division squad, he had four goals, 16 points, and 25 penalty minutes. He also appeared in two games with the Blues' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds, posting three goals and an assist.

After his lone season as a Blue, Leivo went to the KHL and signed with Salavat Yulayev UFA. In his first season with them, the 31-year-old forward had 15 goals and 38 points in 40 games. As solid as he was in 2023-24, he has taken his game to a new level this season with the KHL squad.

    Josh Leivo

Leivo is having an incredible season, as he leads the KHL with 40 goals and 62 points in 46 games. With this, he is just the fourth player in KHL history to score 40 goals in a single season. He only needs to score nine more goals in the next 17 games to pass Sergei Mozyakin (48 goals in 2016-17) for the single-season KHL record.

Clearly, Leivo is playing some truly spectacular hockey right now in the KHL. It will be fascinating to see if he can set the new KHL single-season goal record before the campaign is over from here.
