MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. -- Forwards Mathieu Joseph and Kasperi Kapanen and defenseman Nick Leddy each is unlikely to play for the St. Louis Blues against the Toronto Maple Leafs to begin a five-game homestand on Saturday.

Kapanen, who missed Thursday's 2-1 loss against the Philadelphia Flyers with an upper-body injury sustained Tuesday against the Ottawa Senators, was on the ice early before practice working with strength and conditioning coach Ray Barile.

"I think he's just day to day right now," Blues coach Drew Bannister said. "I think right now, I don't think he's going to be a participant tomorrow in the game for us. It's similar to Matty Joseph and 'Leds' too. I still think they they're kind of day to day. Until we can get them into regular practices, I don't see them being players for us."

Joseph missed his second game with a lower-body injury, and Leddy also has a lower-body injury and has missed the past seven games. Each was able to get on the ice on Friday morning prior to the team practice.

Of course, the Blues are without center Robert Thomas, who fractured his right ankle blocking a shot in the third period of a 3-2 loss against the Winnipeg Jets on Oct. 22.
