Son of Blues Hall of Famer Keith Tkachuk shares special day at places that meant most to him growing up as a St. Louis kid
Matthew Tkachuk brought the Stanley Cup back to St. Louis.
The Cup has been in the Gateway City a few times since the St. Louis Blues won the franchise's first-ever Cup in 2019, including days with the Cup by Oakville's Pat Maroon and former Blues captain Alex Pietrangelo last year, but this is the first-ever Tkachuk-themed championship.
Keith Tkachuk never won the Cup in his playing career, including parts of nine seasons from 2001-10 playing for the Blues, but the Tkachuk family is soaking in all of Matthew's accolades after the Florida Panthers won the Cup in June with a seven-game series win against the Edmonton Oilers.
Among some of the spots Matthew Tkachuk, who was born in Scottsdale, Ariz. but grew up and been a St. Louis boy since he was three, took the Cup to some of his important spots around the region, including Chaminade High School where he went along with Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum:
Thachuk also visited Villa Duchesne School, where he and brother Brady Tkachuk went to school:
There were also, among the visits, to Children's Hospital and Grassi's Ristorante and Deli in Frontenac:
Oh and of course, there's home:
