St. Louis Blues forward Radek Faksa is one of the team's most notable pending unrestricted free agents (UFA) with July 1 being just one day away. However, while the start of free agency is just about here, the possibility of him staying in St. Louis is still there.

According to The Athletic's Jeremy Rutherford, the Blues and Faksa are continuing to have contract discussions.

Hearing that the Blues are still trying to keep Faksa around is not necessarily surprising. The veteran center was a nice part of the Blues' bottom six and penalty kill this season. Thus, it would be nice if they found a way to re-sign him, especially if it is at an affordable price.

Faksa, 31, appeared in 70 games this season with the Blues, where he recorded five goals, 1`5 points, and 115 hits. He also won 57% of his faceoffs, so he certainly had success at the dot in 2024-25.

It will now be interesting to see if the Blues and Faksa can come to terms on a new contract from here. If not, he should be a popular target in free agency.

NHL Free Agency: Blues Should Have Clear Top Target NHL Free Agency: Blues Should Have Clear Top Target The start of free agency is just about here, so it is going to be a very busy time in the NHL. The St. Louis Blues will certainly be a team to watch once free agency opens, as they should be looking to add to their roster after their successful 2024-25 season.
