St. Louis forward stretchered off the ice late in first period against Lightning after being hit in throat/side of face with puck

ST. LOUIS -- A scary situation unfolded at Enterprise Center on Tuesday when St. Louis Blues forward Dylan Holloway was stretchered off the ice.

Holloway was hit with a shot by Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nick Paul what looked like the side of his right face/neck area with 2:35 remaining in the period.

Holloway finished his shift but when he went to the bench, he was being attended by Blues medical personnel, who kept his head stable while there, eventually being put on a stretcher and taken to a nearby hospital.

The Blues announced that Holloway was alert and stable. His parents are in town and accompanied him to the hospital.

We'll have reaction from players and coaches after the game.
