Paul, Lukas Fischer contribute to scoresheet to help USA Blue blitz Stenberg, Sweden; Ralph played for USA White in win against Finland

The Fischers made their way onto the scoresheet to open the 2024 World Junior Summer Showcase.

No, they're not brothers but Paul and Lukas Fischer each contributed for USA Blue in a 7-2 blitzing of Otto Stenberg and Sweden at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich. on Sunday.

Paul Fischer, a defenseman selected by the Blues in the fifth round of the 2023 NHL Draft, had two assists, and Lukas Fischer, son of former Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jiri Fischer and a defenseman himself who was selected by the Blues in the second round of the 2024 draft, scored USA Blue's sixth goal that made it 6-0 in the third period.

Stenberg, a first-round pick in 2023 (25th overall), had an assist and was the top line playing left wing. Defenseman Theo Lindstein, also a first-round pick in 2023 (29th overall), did not dress for the Swedes in the game.

In the opener, USA White slipped past Finland 3-2, and although defenseman Colin Ralph (second round pick, 2024) didn't factor in the scoring, he had a good game.

Action resumes Monday with USA Blue taking on Finland at noon (CT) and USA White facing Sweden at 3 p.m. All games from the showcase are streamed live and on-demand on USAHockeyTV.com.
