
Jakub Stancl didn't want to be left out.
A 2023 fourth-round pick of the St. Louis Blues, the 19-year-old Stancl signed a three-year, two-way entry-level contract on Saturday, joining fellow 2023 picks Dalibor Dvorsky, Otto Stenberg and Theo Lindstein to sign pro contracts.
Stancl, who was the 106th overall pick, played last season with the Vaxjo Lakers of the Swedish Hockey League and had one goal in seven regular-season games. He also spent time with the Lakers’ J20 team in Sweden’s top junior hockey league, putting up 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) in 28 regular-season games.
Stancl, who is a Praha, Czechia native, played in seven games with Czechia at the 2024 IIHF World Juniors and had six points (four goals, two assists) while helping them earn a bronze medal.
Along with Stancl, the Blues signed 2023 third-round pick Juraj Pekarcik and 2022 third-round pick Aleksanteri Kaskimaki this past week to entry-level contracts.
