And the 33-year-old, barring something unforeseen, will make his Blues debut tonight against the Dallas Stars (7 p.m.; FDSNMW, ESPN 101.1-FM).
Not only is Fowler expected to make his debut but the veteran of 991 NHL games -- all with the Ducks -- is slated to pair with Colton Parayko on the top pairing tonight, according to coach Jim Montgomery.
So naturally, Fowler will be the Blues player to watch tonight. Did you expect anyone else?
It's the new kid in town, the new toy every kid wants to play with, so naturally he will get all the attention.
Fowler, who has four assists in 17 games with the Ducks this season, is averaging 21:04 in ice time this season, and it's suspected that those minutes will see an uptick.
How does he fit in right away? Can Fowler and Parayko blend right in? Those will all be things we pay attention to in the game tonight. And can he bring some offensive bite in an area where the Blues defenseman need it?
Expect some juice from the new guy coming to a situation where a team is trying to make the playoffs.
