Blues goalie making first start since being pulled from 8-1 loss against Senators on Oct. 29

ST. LOUIS -- Joel Hofer will have the spotlight on him Thursday when he's back between the pipes against the Utah Hockey Club.

The St. Louis Blues goalie was pulled from his last start, Oct. 29 in an 8-1 loss against the Ottawa Senators, when he allowed five goals on 21 shots.

It was the worst performance of the year for the Blues in general and Hofer was pulled at 31:06.

Hofer is 3-1-0 on the season with a 3.39 goals-against average and .903 save percentage but in two home starts this season, he's allowed just three goals on 74 shots, including a 34-save shutout in a 1-0 of the New York Islanders in overtime, a game in which he got the secondary assist on Jake Neighbours' goal.

"Super-competitive," Blues coach Drew Bannister said. "He's had a couple real good skates here, looks good. He's confident. I expect him to have a big game for us here tonight."
