It's been some week for a number of St. Louis Blues prospects.
None better than that of Juraj Pekarcik.
A third-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, the forward went on a point tear this past weekend for Moncton of the QMJHL.
The 19-year-old helped the Wildcats make it a clean sweep of a three-game set after an assist in a 5-3 win at Victoriaville, giving Pekarcik six points (one goal, three assists) in three games, and going back to Oct. 20, it's seven points (two goals, five assists) in four games.
Pekarcik started the season a minus-4 in the first two games he played in, but after a sizzling weekend, now has a point or more in nine of the past 10 games to give him 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) in 12 games and in the past 10 games is a plus-6.
* Adam Jecho -- The third-round pick in 2024 also had himself quite a week and was a assist machine like Pekarcik was.
The 18-year-old center had six assists the past three games, including three on Saturday for Edmonton of the Western Hockey League in a 7-1 win against Portland.
Jecho, who has 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in nine games for the Oil Kings, is on a five-game point streak (two goals, seven assists) that included a two-goal game Oct. 14 against Vancouver:
* Quinton Burns -- The captain of Kingston of the Ontario Hockey League also had himself a week's worth of apples -- five of them to be exact.
The 19-year-old defenseman had five assists in four games, including two on Sunday in the Frontenacs' 6-2 win against North Bay.
Burns, who leads the OHL with 34 penalty minutes from the physical nature he plays with, has six assists the past five games and now has 13 on the season (no goals) in 13 games to go with a team-leading plus-12. His 13 points is sixth among OHL defensemen.
Watch Burns defend this 2-on-1 that led to Kingston's first goal today:
Burns had 14 of his season's 34 penalty minutes on Friday and here's a couple reasons:
* Korotky still going strong in Russia; Mrsic, Stancl still point-per-game players -- We had a report on Korotky and his torrid start with SKA-1946 St. Petersburg of the Molodyozhnaya Hokkeinaya Liga (MHL) in Russia and he still is at an incredible clip with 22 points (13 goals, nine assists) in 15 games and has the center on a clip for 76 points (45 goals, 31 assists) in 52 games.
Korotky was named on Thursday to Russia's U20 Future Cup National Team.
Tomas Mrsic (fourth round, 2024) and Jakub Stancl (fourth round, 2023) are at or ahead of a point-per-game clip.
Mrsic, a center, has 12 points (six goals, six assists) in 10 games for Prince Albert of the WHL, and Stancl, a left wing, has 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 11 games for Kelowna of the WHL.
