Today, the NHL announced that the Tampa Bay Lightning have been fined $100,000 for their actions in the final preseason game against the Florida Panthers. Their head coach Jon Cooper also has been fined $25,000 for his role in it.
After the Lightning were dished $125,000 in total fines, this left NHL fans wondering why the Panthers didn't get anything?
Well, the reason could be due to the Lightning calling up seven players from their AHL team. Five of which were given a game misconduct, including Scott Sabourin who also received a suspension due to his actions.
It seems like the NHL is trying to show that actions, and reactions have consquences.
