Andrei Vasilevskiy is not a fan of cable.
The Tampa Bay Lightning still do not know who their playoff opponent for the first round will be. However, that will change on Tuesday night, as the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers are both playing their final games of the season tonight. The Bruins and Panthers are one point apart in the Atlantic Division standings, so it's a big night for both clubs.
With the Lightning set to learn who their first-round opponent will be, superstar goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy was asked if he would be watching Boston and Florida's games tonight. No. 88 had a hilarious response, saying: “I probably will check the score on the website. I do have TV at home, but I don’t have cable. It’s just too expensive nowadays.”
Vasilevskiy has a large salary, carrying a $9.5 million AAV. However, even with having one of the biggest salaries in the NHL, he agrees with most people that cable is just too darn expensive.
This was a funny and relatable response from the star goaltender, and there's no question that fans will love his honesty. However, all humor aside, it will be intriguing to see if Boston or Florida ends up being the Lightning's first-round opponent from here.
