During the Tampa Bay Lightning's game on Saturday against the Boston Bruins, Lightning defenseman Darren Raddysh made franchise history.

In the third period, Raddysh took a snap shot from inside of the faceoff circle which beat Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman. The goal was Raddysh's 21st of his season, which is now the most scored by a Lightning defenseman.

The previous record, 20 goals, was held jointly by Dan Boyle (2006-07) and Victor Hedman (2021-22).

Raddysh's rise with the Lightning has been an inspiring story, as he initially signed a one-year, two-way contract with Tampa Bay for the 2021-22 season, which he mainly spent with their American Hockey League Affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.

The following season, he earned more NHL time, but against spent the majority of his time with the Crunch. It was during the 2023-24 season that Raddysh finally got a full-time NHL opportunity with the Lightning and he never looked back.

Raddysh's future in Tampa is uncertain at this stage, as he's set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. Regardless of what happens on that front, he has ensured that he'll remain a part of Lightning history for quite some time.
