The Tampa Bay Lightning weren't overly aggressive at this year's Trade Deadline, opting to bring back a familiar face in Corey Perry. Perry had previously spent two seasons with the Lightning from 2021 to 2023 before departing the organization to join the Chicago Blackhawks.

With Nikita Kucherov out the last couple of games, Perry has been playing alongside Jake Guentzel and Brayden Point. As a result, his offensive production has taken a step forward.

The game before Kucherov exited the lineup, Perry snapped a six-game point-less drought with a goal against the Seattle Kraken. Since then, he's been putting up points consistently. With Kucherov out, Perry's ice time increased dramatically and he's stepped up as well.

Perry picked up an assist against the Ottawa Senators then added a goal against the Nashville Predators.

While Perry isn't the elite goal-scorer that he was half-a-decade ago anymore, he's been a valuable addition for the Lightning. His ice time will likely drop again once Kucherov returns to the lineup, but he did his job holding down the fort.
