A former Tampa Bay Lightning first-round pick has found his new home with the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Flyers have announced that they have signed forward Nolan Foote to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2026-27 season.
Foote was selected by the Lightning in the first round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, 27th overall. However, he never ended up playing for the Lightning, as he was traded to the New Jersey Devils during the 2019-20 season in the deal that brought Blake Coleman to Tampa.
Since being drafted in the first round by the Lightning, Foote has had trouble cementing himself as a full-time NHL player. Instead, he has spent most of his professional career in the AHL.
In 42 career NHL games over six seasons split between the Devils and Florida Panthers, Foote has posted seven goals, 10 points, and 59 hits. He played in a career-high 12 NHL games last season for Florida, posting one goal and 27 hits.
Down in the AHL, Foote has recorded 76 goals, 85 assists, and 161 points in 245 career games over six seasons.
