This former Lightning forward had a big game for the Rangers.
The Tampa Bay Lightning lost forward Oliver Bjorkstrand this off-season, as he signed a one-year, $4.5 million contract with the New York Rangers in free agency.
Now, Bjorkstrand is starting to heat up for the Rangers during the early stages of the 2026-27 season.
In the Rangers' most recent contest against the New York Islanders, Bjorkstrand scored two goals. This included the former Lightning forward scoring the Rangers' game-winning goal at the 17:07 mark of the second period.
Bjorkstrand will now be looking to keep this kind of play up for the Rangers from here. If he does, it would help New York's chances of getting back into the playoffs.
Bjorkstrand played in 98 games over two seasons with the Lightning, where he recorded 17 goals, 24 assists, and 41 points. Overall, Bjorkstrand had an up-and-down tenure with the Lightning but will now be looking to stay hot for the Rangers from here.
