Former Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Michael Milne is heading back across the border, as he's signed with the American Hockey League's Manitoba Moose.
Milne's time with the Lightning organization was short, as he was acquired from the Minnesota Wild just after Christmas of 2025 in a deal that saw Boris Katchouk head to the State of Hockey. A little over three months later, Milne was included in a pre-deadline deal with the Detroit Red Wings that brought depth defenseman Ian Mitchell to the Lightning organization.
A third round pick in 2022, Milne's road to the NHL hasn't been smooth to say the least. Last season, he suited up for four different minor league teams spread across the AHL and the ECHL. He played 15 games for the Iowa Wild, 19 for the Crunch, five for the Grand Rapids Griffins and five for the Toledo Walleye. Signing with Manitoba, it seems that he's hoping for some stability during the 2026-27 season.
