This former Lightning forward has earned a contract for the season with the Rangers.

The New York Rangers have announced that they have signed former Tampa Bay Lightning forward Luke Glendening to a one-year contract for the 2026-27 season.

Glendening signing this contract for the season comes shortly after he landed a professional tryout (PTO) agreement from the Rangers. Clearly, the Rangers liked what they saw from the former Lightning forward during his PTO. Now, he has contract for the year because of it.

Glendening will now give the Rangers another veteran option to work with for their bottom six. He should be able to fit well as their fourth-line center due to his steady defensive play and strong faceoff ability. He will also likely be one of their key penalty killers when in the lineup.

Glendening spent two seasons with the Lightning from 2023-24 to 2024-25. In 158 games with the Bolts over that span, he recorded 14 goals, four assists, and 18 points.
