Jake Guentzel Scores 300th Career Goal cover image

Jake Guentzel has been one of the NHL's top goal scorers for years at this point, as he's hit the 40-goal plateau three times in his career. Before joining the Tampa Bay Lightning, Guentzel scored 219 goals with the Pittsburgh Penguins and eight more during a stint with the Carolina Hurricanes. On Tuesday night, he scored his 73rd goal as a member of the Lightning which also marked the 300th of his career.

According to Benjamin Pierce, Guentzel became the eighth-fastest American-born player to hit the 300 goal milestone. He achieved the feat in 670 games, 18 games faster than Dallas Stars legend, and Hockey Hall of Famer, Mike Modano.

Guentzel even hit the milestone faster than his superstar teammate Nikita Kucherov. It took the Russian winger 679 games to score his 300th goal, however given Kucherov's scoring rate as of late, it'll be difficult for Guentzel to reach 400 quicker than his teammate.

This season, Guentzel has scored 32 goals for the Lightning while also recording 42 assists in 70 games.
