Jake Guentzel, USA set to Face Brandon Hagel, Canada for the Gold cover image

In an early morning match-up, hockey's oldest rivalry will be renewed once again. This time, it'll also feature a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning on both sides of the ice.

Brandon Hagel and head coach Jon Cooper will represent the Lightning on Team Canada, while Jake Guentzel looks to help the United States to their first gold medal since the famous Miracle on Ice in 1980.

Canada has been struggling in recent showings, as they just narrowly defeated Czechia in the quarterfinal, then only defeated Finland by a single goal in the semifinal.

As for the United States, they defeated Sweden by just a single goal in the quarterfinal before dominating Slovakia in the semifinal, winning 6-2. It's worth noting though, Finland went on to defeat Slovakia 6-1 in the bronze medal game, so it's not quite fair to compare the quality of opponents Canada and the United States faced in the semifinal.

Hagel and Guentzel both have equal production to this point at the Olympic Games, as both have appeared in five games and scored a single goal for their country.
