What should the Lightning expect from Andrei Vasilevskiy this season?

The 2026-27 season is almost here for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Due to this, we here at The Hockey News Lightning are starting a player preview series that will look at each Bolts player.

In this first edition of the series, let's discuss Andrei Vasilevskiy.

Andrei Vasilevskiy Looking To Win Another Vezina Trophy

Vasilevskiy is coming off an excellent 2025-26 season, as he posted a 39-15-4 record, a .911 save percentage, and a 2.31 goals-against average. With these numbers, he won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's best goalie for the second time in his NHL career.

Now, Vasilevskiy will be looking to have himself another fantastic season in 2026-27. The possibility of him taking home another Vezina Trophy this upcoming season should not be ruled out, as he is still an elite netminder at this point in his career.

If the Lightning hope to remain among the NHL's top teams this regular-season, they will need Vasilevskiy to be on his A-game and stay healthy. It will be interesting to see what kind of season No. 88 has this campaign from here.
