In this latest edition of the series, let's take a look at forward Conor Geekie.
Conor Geekie Looking To Break Out For The Lightning
There is no question that Geekie is a player to keep an incredibly close eye on during this season. The young forward will be looking to put together a big breakout year for the Lightning and prove that he is ready to be a full-time NHL player.
Geekie played in 14 games for Tampa Bay last season, where he recorded one goal, three points, and eight penalty minutes. Yet, he notably had a strong year down in the AHL with the Syracuse Crunch, as he posted 17 goals and 59 points in 57 games.
There is no question that Geekie has good upside. The former first-round pick has shown good promise early on in his career at the AHL level and will now be looking to translate it over to the NHL level with the Lightning. It will be interesting to see if he can do just that from here.
