Should the Lightning consider calling up this forward?
During the 2025 NHL off-season, the Tampa Bay Lightning signed forward Jakob Pelletier to a three-year contract in free agency.
Pelletier dominated last season for the Lightning's AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, as he posted 28 goals and 77 points in 63 games. Now, he is once again impressing with the Crunch this campaign.
In 10 games so far this season with Syracuse, Pelletier has recorded seven goals and 11 points. However, he has been on fire as of late, as he has six goals and an assist in his last two games alone.
With how well Pelletier is playing, he is making a real case to get another chance on the Lightning's NHL roster. The way he scoring right now in the AHL is hard to ignore, and Tampa Bay should not be afraid to give him a look because of it.
Pelletier played in just five games last season for the Lightning, where he was held off the scoresheet. In 91 career NHL games, he has recorded 11 goals, 18 assists, 29 points, and a plus-2 rating.
