The Tampa Bay Lightning are giving one of their former players a chance at their training camp.
The Lightning have announced that they have signed forward Luke Glendening to a professional tryout (PTO) agreement.
Glendening signing a PTO with the Lightning comes after he spent the 2025-26 split between the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers. In 70 games split during last season, he posted two goals, seven assists, nine points, 97 hits, and a 52.9 faceoff winning percentage.
With Yanni Gourde currently sidelined, it makes sense that the Lightning are taking a look at Glendening on a PTO. He is a player who they are already familiar with and could slot in at their fourth-line center spot if he ends up earning a contract for the season.
Glendening spent the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons with the Lightning, where he posted 14 goals, 18 points, 226 hits, and a 56.5 faceoff winning percentage in 158 games. It will be interesting to see if he can earn a contract for the season from here.
