This is awful news for Team Canada.

This is awful news for Team Canada.

Team Canada is set to face off against Team USA on Feb. 15 in what will be a massive contest. Both teams are full of superstars, so all hockey fans will want to check this matchup out.

However, Team Canada head coach Jon Cooper will be without one of his top superstars. Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar won't be in the lineup because of an illness.

Makar is Canada's top blueliner, so Cooper and his players will need to adjust without him in the lineup. With Makar being out, the Tampa Bay Lightning bench boss now has Dallas Stars defenseman Thomas Harley in the club's lineup.

Makar, 26, has appeared in 57 games this season with the Avalanche, where he has 22 goals, 63 points, and a plus-18 rating.
