The Lightning should consider making a trade for this Flames forward.

The Tampa Bay Lightning should be looking to add to their roster this season through the trade market.

When looking at Tampa Bay's current forward group, it is fair to argue that they could use another middle-six winger to solidify it. Due to this, one player who they should consider pursuing this season is Calgary Flames forward Joel Farabee.

Farabee's name has floated around the rumor mill, and it would be an intriguing player for the Lightning to add. With the Flames rebuilding and being one of the bottom teams in the NHL, the possibility of them trading Farabee this campaign should not be ruled out.

If the Lightning acquired Farabee, they would be getting a 26-year-old forward who is capable of providing solid offensive production. He could slot well on their second line with Jake Guentzel and Brayden Point and give them another skilled player to work with on their power play.

In eight games so far this season, Farabee has recorded five assists. This was after he had 20 goals and 38 points in 82 games with the Flames during the 2025-26 season. With numbers like these, he could be a nice pickup for a Lightning club that could use more secondary offensive production.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if the Lightning strike a deal for Farabee this season. He would be more than a rental, as he has a $5 million cap hit through the 2027-28 season.
