The Lightning will finish the month of March tonight, as they face the Montreal Canadiens on home ice.

Entering April, there will be quite a few important games for the Lightning as we're officially at the point of the season where every single point could have major playoff implications.

The Lightning will play eight regular season games in the month of April, with playoffs set to start in the latter half of the month. Of those eight games, all of them will be against Eastern Conference opposition and six of them will be against divisional rivals. Impressively, all but one of those games will be against an opponent looking to fight their way into the playoffs at the time of writing. The only team not fitting that criteria will be the Lightning's final opponent, the New York Rangers.

The Lightning will kick off April with two home games, the first against the Pittsburgh Penguins who currently sit second in the Metropolitan Division. Two nights later, they'll host the Boston Bruins, the occupants of the first wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.

The following week, the Lightning will be on the road with four games in six days. First, they'll head to Buffalo to face the Sabres in a game that could ultimately decide who finishes the season atop the Atlantic Division. The following day, they'll be in Ottawa to try to dash the Senators' playoff hopes.

To end the week, they'll travel to Montreal and Boston for their final meeting with each team.

The Lightning will then close out the regular season at home against the Detroit Red Wings who currently sit just two points behind the Columbus Blue Jackets for the final wild card spot and the New York Rangers.

Every point matters as playoffs loom, while no team has an easy schedule at this time of year, it's safe to say the Lightning certainly have a tough end to the season.
