While the Tampa Bay Lightning are battling the Montreal Canadiens in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Lightning's American Hockey League affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, are in the middle of a playoff run of their own and they're getting some reinforcements.

Marco Mignosa, the Lightning's seventh-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, has joined the Crunch following his season with the Ontario Hockey League's Soo Greyhounds. The Lightning picked Mignosa as an over-age player who was first eligible to be drafted in 2023.

Mignosa's offensive production took a major step forward during the 2024-25 season. He scored 36 goals and 85 points in 58 games which was enough to impress the Lightning's scouts. After being drafted, his production stagnated a bit. This season, he scored 35 goals and 89 points in 65 games.

Mignosa has yet to sign an entry-level contract and reported to the Crunch on an amateur tryout. He joined the team on April 21 and has yet to appear in a game.
