It appears the Tampa Bay Lightning are on the verge of getting some injured defensemen back in the mix.
The Lightning announced on Friday afternoon that they had reassigned defenseman Steven Santini to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.
Santini is currently the captain of the Crunch, but was recalled a few days ago to fill a hole on the blue line against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He's appeared in 10 games for the Lightning this season spread across four different stints in the NHL.
Santini rejoins the Crunch as they're in the middle of a playoff push and currently sit second in the AHL's North Division.
